Article Word Count: 598

The baseball game that you play is greatly influenced by the type of baseball glove that you wear.  The glove is one of the most essential items that one needs to play baseball.  If you are looking to play baseball seriously, the glove needs to fit.  There are many types of gloves.  Women, obviously wear different gloves than men.  Catcher's gloves are more costly, but are well worth the price if you are an avid baseball player.  Finally, if you are one that is at first base often, you will need a special glove, as well.

Before you go out and buy a baseball glove, you will want to look into different manufactures of and shop around to compare prices.  Find out what glove will give you the most for your money.  Even though you will think that the glove doesn't matter all that much, it does.  The better the glove, the better the game.  It is not wise to buy just any glove off the internet.  You will want to make sure that you have tried it on before you make a final decision.

Many young girls and women are joining in the all-American sport of baseball and retailers have made all sorts of baseball gloves that are specifically suited for young girls and for women.  Even though this may be the case, women find it a greater challenge to find baseball gloves that fit.  Most manufacturers are still making them with men and boys in mind.  This could pose somewhat of a problem for women, since their hands tend to be smaller than those of a male.  Obviously, if you find a glove that fits you better, you will in turn play better.  An adjustable wrist strap will aid women and girls in having a better game, due to having a better fitting glove.

The frequency with which you play baseball is another factor that will influence your decision when looking for the right glove.  A good catcher's glove could cost you hundreds of dollars, obviously something you would not want to invest in if baseball is just an occasional pastime for you.  However, if you are a baseball fanatic, a professional grade glove would be just the thing for you, since they are of better quality and tend to last longer.  Obviously, the higher quality gloves will work longer and will play better.  The measurements for a catcher's glove are from the glove's heel to where your wrist is to the top of the palm of the glove, where your fingers are.

Any first basemen will tell you the importance of finding the right glove.  You will want to find a glove made out of the best materials and webbing that will aid you in playing first base to the best of your ability.  You need to take into greatest consideration how the glove feels.  Having your fingers feel snug and being able to open and close the glove quickly are important qualities to look for in a baseball glove.  If it fits like a glove, your game is sure to improve!
